1999 | Club formed on May 4th, membership was £5 |
June | Longest Day Run was organised by Len Watts, and Terry de Vere helps with the production of the club newsletters. |
July | first Annual Show took place and Doc Romanes steamed to the event with his Steam Engine from Portesham. |
August | Colin Paull became our first Treasurer. Andy and Sam Trim organised a Treasure Hunt. Club Patron was announced to be Sally Weld of Lulworth Estate. |
September | A Run was organised by Nick Aplin and the club had its first club stand at the Wessex Classic Car Show. |
November | The club moved its meeting venue from The Victoria Inn to The New Inn at Littlemoor Road, where we enjoyed a Slide Show given by Dave Habgood. |
December | Christmas Run & Meal saw 45 members attend. Pine Lodge Tea Rooms was the venue and our guests included the Mayor of Dorchester and Maria Ferguson from Wessex FM. |
2000
January 2000 | Over 30 members attended the club meeting, we had a Slide Show given by John & Gwyn Dancy. |
February 2000 | Colin Paull was our Quiz master at our club meeting, Nick arranged a Skittles Match with the South Coast Capri Club. |
March 2000 | Terry de Vere stood down from helping with the newsletter production, Will Aplin assisted Nick. |
April 2000 | The RNLI gave us a talk and the club's first Easter Run was organised by Ivan Down. |
May 2000 | The first club AGM we had a talk by the Clic charity and members enjoyed a Anniversary cake which was supplied by Vron Aplin. The first Anniversary Run to the Blue Pool was organised by Nick Aplin and we were joined by members of the Poole Bay Classics Club. |
June 2000 | 50 members attended the club night, Ron Kingman donated a caravan to the club. Oliver Signs kindly signwritten the club caravan for the club. Over £400 was raised at the club's 2nd Show for the Clic Charity. |
July 2000 | Mike Nicholls arranged a club stand at Lulworth Car Show. Andy Trim organised another Treasure Hunt and the first Hardy Country Run was organised by Len Watts. 46 entries, £835.57 was raised for Joseph Weld. |
August 2000 | Colin Paull organised a club run, The Super Trooper Run was another new event in this year organised by Nick Aplin. |
September 2000 | Ron Wilcox donated a caravan step to the club and our stand at the Wessex Car Show was our biggest to date. |
October 2000 | 60 members attended the club night and the Autumn Run was well supported. |
November 2000 | Terry de Vere gave a Slide Show of club events and John & Val Parker arranged a Skittles Evening. |
December 2000 | 70 members attended the Christmas meeting and Vice Chairman Nick Aplin thanked Carle & Di for entertaining us. Bill White thanked the club management team. Best decorated cars on the Christmas Run was won by Stan Warburton and Colin Paull. the mince pies on the run were donated by Vron Aplin. |
2001
2001 | January saw Ron Kingman take up the post of Treasurer after Colin stood down from the job. |
March 2001 | Terry de Vere organised a club run to Haynes Motor Museum |
April 2001 | Easter Run was organised by Ivan Down |
May 2001 | Second Anniversary meeting / AGM saw 50 members in attendance. The Anniversary Run finished at the Blue Pool. |
June 2001 | 3rd Annual Show attracted 80 vehicles, and 52 cars took part in the Hardy Country Run. |
July 2001 | £200 was presented to Joseph Weld from this years Hardy Country Run. |
August 2001 | Terry de Vere organised a Classic Car Run, and 27 cars took part in the Trooper Run. |
September 2001 | £1,150 was presented to CLIC from this years Show, Ivan organised a Mystery Tour in this year. |
October 2001 | The Autumn Run was organised by Nick and finished at The Springhead pub. |
November 2001 | 65 members enjoyed a talk by Brian Jackson and £60 was raised for the RNLI. |
December 2001 | Almost 100 people attended the club night, we enjoyed a Flute player and ' The Grahames ', 84 members enjoyed a Christmas Meal at The Turks Head in Chickerell. The club donated £50 to the Mayors Christmas Appeal. |
2002
January 2002 | Win Percy gave a talk on his racing career, and a Skittles evening was arranged by John Parker, |
February 2002 | Terry de Vere's mother sadly passed away, £51 was raised at our club meeting for Westfield School |
March 2002 | Club member John Dale passed away. Dave Habgood gave us a slide show. 19 cars took part in the Easter Run. |
April 2002 | £131 was presented to the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance from money raised at Christmas, |
May 2002 | The 3rd Anniversary Run finished at Mangerton Mill with 35 cars. The AGM saw 70 members in the room and 161 members were on our books reported Membership Secretary Pat Down. |
June 2002 | Queens Golden Jubilee celebrations saw a club display outside the Pavilion organised by Ivan. 47 cars took part in the Hardy Country Run with the oldest car being 1924. |
July 2002 | Our Barbecue saw 30cars on display, Jackie Lewis sadly passed away. The club's 4th Show was well attended, Andy Trim was organising the Tombola, Colin Paull was running the draw on the day, and Vron Aplin was running the Bouncy Castle. The Ken Wiltshire Cup was won by Norman Kimber. |
August 2002 | £973 was presented to Joseph Weld from this years Hardy Country Run. |
September 2002 | The Gartell Railway Run was arranged by Andy Spracklen and 20 cars took part. £2,000 was presented to the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance from this years Show. |
October 2002 | The club's 3rd Autumn Run was held on a wet day, and finished at the Hunters Moon at Middlemarsh. |
November 2002 | over 50 members attended the club meeting. Pat Down resigned as Membership Secretary and Gwyn Dancy took up the position for the club. |
December 2002 | Plenty of laughter at our club meeting, we enjoyed a buffet and music by ' The Grahames '. 76 members enjoyed the Christmas Meal at The Turks Head. |
2003
January 2003 | John Dancy joined the Management Team along with Len Watts. |
March 2003 | 50 members enjoyed a ' Call My Bluff ' Quiz hosted by Larry & Sue Skeats. Maureen Carter Richards was selling the raffle tickets. |
April 2003 | Gerry & Lyn's club run started the season off, 37 cars took part. The Easter Bonnet Run was organised by Arthur Edmonds. |
May 2003 | 20 cars took part in the Anniversary Run that ended at the Blue Pool. At the AGM Bill White thanked Carle for all his work as Chairman. |
June 2003 | The Longest Day Run was organised by Len Watts. The 5th Annual Show was another success with at least 55 club cars on show. |
July 2003 | The Barbecue night broke all records with 47 cars on display at the Victoria Inn. A cheque for over £1,000 was presented to Joseph Weld from this years Hardy Country Run. |
August 2003 | 132 members were reported to be in the club now. £200 was raised for The Stefan Savic Appeal. 41 cars took part in the Super Trooper Run organised by Nick and Will Aplin. |
September 2003 | The first club French trip was organised by Joe Patterson and Arthur Edmonds. |
October 2003 | Brian Steer celebrated his 81st Birthday. The club Autumn Run saw 26 cars take part. organised by Nick and Will. |
November 2003 | A discussion at the club meeting took place about the 2004 Show. Bill White proposed Riding for the Disabled as a charity to support. A Mini Bus trip to the NEC Classic Car Show was arranged by Mark Richards. |
December 2003 | £127 was raised on the Christmas raffle. The Christmas Run followed by a lunch at The Turks Head was enjoyed by 65 members. Bob and Dee Oliver judged the vehicles and the winner was Trad Casey's car. |
2004

April 2004 | Gerry & Lyn's Grand Prix Run and Arf's Easter Run were both well supported and enjoyed. |
May 2004 | The club's 5th Anniversary Run in this year finished at Monkey World. At the AGM Len Watts reported 31 entries so far for the Hardy Country Run. John Ovens thanked Carle for all his work as Chairman. |
June 2004 | The 5th Hardy Country Run finished at Lulworth Castle, £1,450 was raised for Weldmar Hospice. The club's 6th Show even attracted a Fire Engine ! £925 was raised for the Riding for the Disabled charity. Dave Habgood was our Show Treasurer. |
July 2004 | 13 cars attended the Joseph Weld Fete. We had 106 members in the club. |
August 2004 | 25 cars went on the Shillingstone Fete Run arranged by Nick and Will Aplin. |
September 2004 | Kevin Thorne and Geoff Fookes were welcomed to the club. |
October 2004 | 26 cars took part in the Autumn Run arranged by Nick and Will, it finished at Loders Arms near Bridport. |
November 2004 | We enjoyed a Quiz hosted by Gwyn. It was decided to support the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance in 2005. |
December 2004 | The club held its first Christmas Party at the Willowbed Hall, 80 people attended. £130 was raised on the raffle at the club meeting. Arthur Edmonds thanked Carle and all the Management Team. |
2005
January | 50 members enjoyed the Slide Show Quiz hosted by Mike & Brian Steer. We donated £104 to the Tsunami Earthquake Appeal. |
February | Club member Joe Patterson gave a talk on his walks abroad. £50 was raised on the raffle and winners included Sid Wadham and John Andrews. |
March | Club member Stan Warburton passed away at the age of 86. Mike Rodd gave us a talk and Slide Show on America. The Easter Run was arranged by Arthur Edmonds and 28 cars took part. |
April | Around 70 members attended the club meeting, we had a Talk by Lyall on Advanced Motorist. £68 was raised on the raffle and winners included Jess Blewett, John Woodsford. A collection in Stan Warburtons memory resulted in £50 being raised for the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance. Gerry & Lyn's 3rd Grand Prix Run took place. |
May | The club's 6th Anniversary Run was lead by John Parkes in his MG TD with Will Aplin. The run finished at Abbey Hill Rally. At the AGM it was reported we had 38 entries for the Hardy Country Run. The second ' Meet the TOY Club day ' took place. |
June | Len Watts was thanked for another good Hardy Country Run, 64 entries were booked in, and 42 actually took part. £700 was donated to Weldmar Hospicecare Trust. The club's 7th Annual Show was bigger and better in this year. |
July | 19 cars were on display at the club Barbecue, Mark Richards and John Ovens were on cooking duties. |
August | 40 cars were on show at our cheque presentation night and on our behalf Gwyn Dancy presented the cheque for £2,000 to the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance from this years Show Day. |
September | September - New members were welcomed, this included Graham Nicholson. Maureen Carter Richards took a break from selling raffle tickets and Martin took on the job. We had 150 members in the club as of September reported Gwyn. Our first New Forest Run took place, 26 cars took part. |
October | A Quiz was hosted by Gwyn Dancy at our club meeting. John Dancy stood down from the Management Team and Graham Nicholson and Kevin Thorne joined the club Management Team. 25 cars took part in the Autumn Run organised by Nick and Will Aplin. |
November | It was announced that club stands in 2006 will be organised by Mark Richards and John Andrews. |
December | £106 was raised on the Christmas raffle. Entertainment included Jonny de mont and ' The Grahames '. Our Party Night was held at The Willowbed Hall our second one. 80 people attended and club member Graham Nicholson provided a disco, this was followed by a local singer ' Danny Marie ' and star cabaret was ' Dave Days ' with his magic and singing. £129 was raised on the raffle. The Christmas Lunch was well attended and a gift from the club was presented to Nick Aplin . On Christmas Eve the first Sun Inn Meet took place with three club cars and Jim Goddard's Steam Engine. |
2006
January | Since the club was formed over £3,000 has been donated to local charity. Mike Steer gave his Slide Show Quiz and the winner was John Andrews. Raffle winners included Eddy Horton, Trad Casey and Mike Dethick. |
February | 60 members enjoyed a Hobbies Night. We wished Byran Richards a Happy 70th Birthday. |
March | Chairman's Easy Quiz was a bit of fun at the club meeting. £50 was raised on the raffle. |
April | The 4th Grand Prix Run and the Easter Run took place. |
May | AGM / 7th Anniversary meeting saw Ron Kingman Treasurer report a healthy balance. The Management Team were - Carle, Nick, Ron, Gwyn, Martin, Len, Kevin and Graham. 7th Anniversary Run was arranged by Nick and Will and it finished at Forde Abbey and Gardens. |
June | Trevor Saint stood in as Acting Membership Secretary as Gwyn was away on holiday. The club's 8th Show was hit by rain ! |
July | 40 cars were on display at the Barbecue. A visit to Portland Coastal Watch was arranged by Nick Aplin. Kevin Thorne organised a run to Haynes Museum. |
August | 30 cars took part in the club run to Langton Arms organised by Nick and Will. |
September | Gwyn's Quiz was enjoyed at the club meeting. The 2nd New Forest Run was arranged by Nick and Will again. |
October | Geoff Peters from the Portland Coastal Watch gave us a Talk. £95 was donated to them from the club. Joe Patterson spoke of plans for the 2007 French Trip. |
November | Norman Kimber hosted a Quiz at the club meeting. Club member Mike Steer was in hospital. |
December | £100 was raised on the Christmas raffle, we were entertained by Carle and Diane and we wished Carle a Happy 65th Birthday. The 3rd Christmas Party was another great night with Graham Nicholson's Disco and Pete Howell. £150 was raised on the raffle. 70 people attended the evening. The 2nd Sun Inn Steam & Vehicle Meet saw a few more vehicles, and two large Steam Engines. |
2007
January 2007 | We had the sad news of the passing of Mike Steer. £100 was raised in his memory for Cancer Research. |
February 2007 | The Chairman welcomed Keith Pritchard to the club. |
March 2007 | Maureen Attwooll gave us a talk on Weymouth. |
April 2007 | Dorset Wildlife Trust gave us a talk. The 5th Grand Prix Run saw 35 cars take part. The Drive It Day Run and the Easter Run also took place. |
May 2007 | 8th Anniversary Run finished at Beaulieu Motor Museum, this was arranged by Nick and Will Aplin. Ron Kingman Treasurer reported £1,220 in the club account. |
June 2007 | The club meeting was held at School Hill where we had a Barbecue. 8th Hardy Country Run was another good day. Sadly Graham Nicholson passed away on June 15th. We had another wet Show for our 9th event. |
July 2007 | £70 was raised in memory of Graham Nicholson for Weldmar Hospice. Keith Pritchard joined the Management Team. Kevin Thorne's Isle Of Purbeck Run saw 21 cars take part. |
August 2007 | £675 was donated to Weldmar from this years Hardy Country Run. Carle thanked Nick for 100 magazines ! Mike Nicholls arranged a club run to a Tea Rooms. |
September 2007 | Nick and Will organised a run to the Gartell Railway. Mike Rodd and Joe Patterson arranged the French Trip. |
October 2007 | Carle told members that Terry Baker was very poorly. £1,130 was presented to the Air Ambulance from this years Show. |
November 2007 | Rob Curtis gave a Talk on Dorchester. Kevin Thorne and Dennis Strannack offered to re- design the club website. |
December 2007 | ' The Grahames ' entertained us at the meeting, £120 was raised on the raffle. The Christmas Party was held at the Victory Hall with Pete Howells as our entertainment. The Christmas Run / Meal was held at The Heritage in Chickerell. The Sun Inn Meet finished the year well. |
2008
January 2008 | Carle thanked Kevin and Dennis on the club website. |
February 2008 | It was decided to move the Christmas Party to the New Year. |
March 2008 | Mike Rodd gave a Talk on ' Transport in America ' |
April 2008 | The 6th Grand Prix Run and the club Drive It Day Run's both took place. |
May 2008 | The AGM it was reported we had 128 members. Anniversary Run finished at the Blue Pool. |
June 2008 | 9th Hardy Country Run was another great day. Keith Pritchard arranged the Tombola at the Show. |
July 2008 | Over 30 vehicles were on display at the club's Barbecue. The food was kindly provided by club member Ian Cleverton. 12 club cars attended the Joseph Weld Fete. |
August 2008 | Andy Symes organised a club run and it finished at Beer for a Picnic. Quite a few members attended the Martinstown Fete. |
September 2008 | The club French Trip was enjoyed by a number of members, arranged by Joe Patterson and Mike Rodd. ' Give us a Clue ' Run was organised by Sally & Dave Williams and 20 cars took part. |
October 2008 | At the October meeting we enjoyed a Quiz by Norman Kimber and we presented our cheque to the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance for £2,500 from this years Show, our biggest amount we have donated to charity in the history of the club. |
November 2008 | It was reported that club member Terry Baker sadly passed away, several members attended the funeral. £60 was raised at the club meeting in memory of Terry for Weldmar Hospice. At the meeting Woody gave us a Slide Show. |
December 2008 | We enjoyed a ' Call My Bluff ' Quiz by Larry, Sue and Dave. This was followed by the big Christmas raffle and music by Carle & Diane ' The Grahames ' to get us into the Christmas spirit. The club Christmas Meal was at The Heritage and was another good social event. The Sun Inn Steam & Vehicle Meet was blessed with good weather, around 25 vehicles were on show. In late December former club member Sid Wadhams passed away at the age of 80. |
2009
January 2009 | £40 was raised on the raffle and winners included Nick, Eddy Horton and Anton Harler. Our first New Years Party saw around 57 people attending, the band was ' Tempo ' £112 was raised on the raffle which was arranged by Wilf & Val Hampshire. Winners included Kevin Thorne and Mike Manning. |
February 2009 | On a wintery evening around 40 members attended the club meeting. Sadly our guest speaker didn't turn up ! Carle told a few jokes and we had a story from Joe Patterson. The raffle raised £39 and winners included Ron Kingman, Alan Halford. |
March 2009 | Nick announced he was standing down as Vice Chairman after 10 years at the AGM. Les Ronan gave us a Slide Show. |
April 2009 | 35 cars took part in the club Drive It Day Run., the oldest vehicle was Keith Clifton's 1933 Fordson BB Lorry. |
May 2009 | At the AGM it was reported we had 129 members in the club. Nick Aplin stood down as Vice Chairman after 10 years. Keith Pritchard was the new Vice Chairman. |
June 2009 | 76 CARS took part in the Hardy Country Run, and the club's 11th Annual Show was our biggest so far. |
July 2009 | Over £900 was presented to Weldmar Hospice from this years Hardy Country Run 31 cars were on display at the club Barbecue evening held at The Victoria Inn. |
August 2009 | |
September 2009 | We enjoyed a Talk by Nick Tomlinson from the RSPB and afterwards a collection raised £40.15. Martin was selling raffle tickets, and this raised £22.50 for club funds. The winners included Andy Collier, Nick Aplin and Trevor Saint. |
October 2009 | It was reported in the magazine that Ruth Parkes had passed away wife of John Parkes. Also John Andrews sadly passed away also around the same time. N October club night saw our cheque presentation to the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance for £2,560. Norman Kimber gave us a good Quiz also at the meeting. £28 was raised on the raffle. |
November 2009 | It was reported in the magazine that former club member Ron Piggott had passed way. The club had a new windscreen sticker which was arranged by Kevin Thorne. Rob Curtis gave us a Talk on Cerne Abbas at our club meeting. Members decided to support the Air Ambulance again in 2010. |
December 2009 | Members enjoyed a ' Call My Bluff ' Quiz hosted by Larry & Sue Skeats. The raffle raised £98 for club funds. Music by ' The Grahames ' was enjoyed and Vice Chairman Keith Pritchard thanked both Carle and Diane. raffle winners included Chris Dufall, Andy Collier, Will Aplin, Ted Palmer and Len Watts. The Christmas Run and Meal was another great club day, and the Best decorated car was Chris & Jackie Dufall's Hillman. The 5th Sun Inn Meet took place on a bright sunny day, we even had a bus in this year turn up ! |
2010
January 2010 | It was reported that Connie Patterson wife of Joe sadly passed away. The club night was cancelled due to a warning of snow, this was the first time we have had to do this. The New Year Party was another great night, the band ' Tempo ' entertained us, the raffle raised £132 thanks to Will & Val Hampshire. |
February 2010 | We had a talk by the Don Moxom on Chesil Beach. It was reported that most of the Management Team had resigned. Carle, Nick and Martin were remaining and the AGM will be brought forward to March this year. |
March 2010 | AGM was held and the new team were elected - Chairman Carle Grahame, Vice Chairman Mike Nicholls, Treasurer Monica White, Membership Secretary Maureen Carter Richards, Magazine Editor Nick Aplin and Events Sec / Raffle / Regalia Martin Hain. |
April 2010 | Kay Townsend gave us a talk on ' Fair way of life '. Vice Chairman Mike Nicholls outlined the need for a Secretary. Carle agreed to take this job on and Pru Elmes offered to write any letters that were required. The club website had been closed down. Dennis Strannack has taken on the task of the new club website for the club. Monica our Treasurer has resigned, so Mike Nicholls has taken up this job and Nick has returned as Vice Chairman with immediate effect. |
May 2010 | 11th Anniversary of the club. The Anniversary Run finished at Compton Acres in this year. Talk by Terry Bown on East End of London was enjoyed at the club meeting. Club Visit to Portland Coastal Watch was enjoyed in this month also. |
June 2010 | Club meeting and Barbecue was held at School Hill. 60 vehicles took part in the Hardy Country Run. Our Classics on the Prom was another good promotion day for the club.Calvin Stone brought along his big musical organ. Sadly Ron Wilcox passed away. The 12th Show was a record breaker, two classic buses gave trips out as well ! |
July 2010 | 22 cars were on display at the club meeting. |
August 2010 | The 2010 DVD of our Show was available. The evening visit to the Luscombe Valley Railway was enjoyed aboard Terry Bennett's 1960 Atlantian bus. a collection resulted in £60 being donated to the Lewis Manning Hospice. Andy Symes organised a club run, sadly only 6 cars took part . The club supported the Buckham Fair organised by Martin Clunes . |
September 2010 | Talk by Rob Curtis at The Lugger Inn, on Sherborne. On a sad note it was announced that former club member Dave Habgood had passed away. TOY Club display at the Dorset County Show was enjoyed by many members. |
October 2010 | £900 was presented to the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance by our Treasurer Mike Nicholls. The club are buying a computer for £450 for use by the Editor for the club magazine. Many members attended the Mangerton Mill Rally. A Sunday Lunch meet took place at The Coach & Horses at Winterborne Abbas where 14 members enjoyed lunch. |
November 2010 | Talk on Ship Wrecks by Mr Williams was enjoyed by a good crowd at the club meeting. The Sunday Lunch Meet at The Countryman Inn was enjoyed by several members. A Skittles Evening took place at The New Inn West Knighton. |
December 2010 | Quiz and Music was enjoyed at our meeting, Larry & Sue's ' Call my bluff ' raised £73.95 for Weldmar Hospice. Although we had snow on the day of the Sun Inn Meet, around 20 members still got there and enjoyed a meal. |
2011
January 2011 | 35 members enjoyed a Quiz by Norman Kimber. The New Years Party was another excellent event, £112 was raised on the raffle. The band was ' Tempo '. |
February 2011 | A talk by Anne King on the Piddle Valley. |
March 2011 | Sadly John Cossins passed away. |
April 2011 | A talk by Mr Jesty from the Watercress Company. |
May 2011 | Roy Bennett gave a talk on ' Drain Pipes to Organ Pipes '. The Anniversary Run was organised by Dave & Sally Williams. A trailer ride through the bluebells was arranged by Nick. |
June 2011 | 68 entries on the Hardy Country Classic Tour. Sadly Mike Dethick passed away. The ' Aplin ladies ;' ran the cake stall at the 13th Annual Show. |
July 2011 | We had a club visit to the Portland Coastal Watch, 17 cars attended. |
August 2011 | 25 cars were on display at the club night. A return visit to Luscombe Railway was arranged by Nick on a 1965 AEC bus. Our second run to Buckham Fair was another great club day out. |
September 2011 | Talk by Brian Jackson on the Swanage Railway. |
October 2011 | 150th issue of ' TOY times ' was produced by Nick Aplin. We presented a cheque to the Air Ambulance from our Show, £960. |
November 2011 | We had a talk by Rob Curtis. |
December 2011 | Carle celebrated his 70th birthday, the raffle at the meeting raised £99.00. The 7th Sun Inn Meet was a good event to end 2011. |
2012
January | Fun Quiz by Norman Kimber, 77 people attended the New Years Party, the band were ' REPLAY ' . The raffle raised £120 for club funds. |
February | Due to a cancelled speaker we enjoyed ' Dianes Quiz '. |
March | Tony Boddy sadly passed away. We had a talk on the Piddle Valley by Anne King. A Skittles Match took place against the Woolbridge Motor Club. |
April | We had a talk on Alpacas. 30 cars took part in our club ' Drive It Day ' Run. |
May | Sadly Ron Collins and Brian Cook passed away. Colin Paull the club's first Treasurer passed away the day before our AGM. The Management Team were all re- elected for another year. |
June | Over 70 vehicles took part in the Hardy Country Classic Tour. Dorchester Town Crier flagged the cars off. Our Show was moved until the end of July due to a water logged site. |
July | Show was held at Bagwell Farm in this year. |
August | Third run to Buckham Fair. |
September | Talk by Rob Curtis on Dorset. £550 was presented to Weldmar Hospice from our HCCT event this year. |
October | £920 was presented to the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance from this years Show. |
November | Transport Film was enjoyed at the club meeting. |
December | 57 members attended a Christmas Meal, and The Sun Inn Steam & Vehicle Meet was another great day to end 2012. |
2013
January | Around 35 members attended the meeting and enjoyed a fun Quiz by Norman Kimber. The New Years Party was another great night with over 60 people attending. The band were ' REPLAY ' and £115 was raised on the raffle which was arranged by Will Hampshire. |
February | A talk by Pauline Camm on America was the entertainment at the club meeting. |
March | The club meeting saw a fantastic talk by former chef with the Royal Yacht Britannia for 10 years Mke Cranshaw. We also enjoyed a Skittles match with the Woolbridge Motor Club at The Frampton Arms at Moreton. |

May | At the AGM both Nick Aplin and Maureen Carter Richards stood down from the club Management. The club's popular ' Meet the TOY Club day ' on Weymouth seafront was another good day to promote our club and our two major charity events. |
June | The Hardy Country Classic Tour raised £600 for Weldmar Hospice, and our 15th Annual Show was another great day. |
July | Club Run to Portland Coastal Watch, also we supported the RNLI event at Nothe Fort. |
August | The club supported West Bay Day. Club Barbecue was enjoyed and 20 cars were on display. Steve Geach came along with his Ford Consul. |
September | John Ovens Memorial Run was organised by Pete Walker and Kerry Day, and raised £150 for the Weldmar Hospice in his memory. |
October | The Piddle Brewery gave us a talk at our club meeting. Members supported the Mangerton Mill Rally. |
November | We presented £1,000 to the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance. |
December | Good December club night with the usual big raffle and music. The popular Sun Inn Steam & Vehicle Meet finished the year off nicely. |
2014
January | The annual New Years Party was another great night. |
February | Norman Kimber gave us a Quiz at our club meeting. |
March | The third Skittles match with the Woolbridge Motor Club took place at The Lugger Inn and they won by 11. |
April | Talk by Bonny Sartin of ' The Yetties ' . It was announced that Mike Nicholls our Treasurer will be standing down at the AGM. |
May | 15th Anniversary Run finished at Blue Pool was arranged by Nick and Will Aplin. AGM saw Mike Nicholls standing down and Nick Aplin returned as Vice Chairman. Andy Collier took up the job of Treasurer. A Club visit to see the Bluebells was enjoyed. |
June | The 15th Hardy Country Classic Tour was another great day, 84 entries. £620 was raised for Weldmar. The club's 16th Show was another enjoyable day. |
July | 23 cars were on display at the club Barbecue. TOY visited the Plankbridge Hut makers at Piddlehinton. |
August | Another good club day at Buckham Fair, and they raised £67,000 for the Air Ambulance. |
September | Talk by Win Percy, the club supported the Weldmar Fete. |
October | Cheque presented to the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance for £1,250. |
November | Talk by the Shelter box charity, and we donated £58.87.Former member Keith Morton passed away. |
December | Club meeting saw Nikki entertain us with her singing plus our big raffle, £70 was raised. The Christmas Meal was at Upwey Wishing Well where 52 members enjoyed a meal together. The Sun Inn Steam & Vehicle Meet was another good day. |
2015
January | Natter & Noggin at the club meeting. |

March | Talk by Rob Curtis on pub stories and Inn's. 4th Skittles match with the Woolbridge Motor Club at the Frampton Arms, we won by 2 pins ! |
April | Talk on Heavy Haulage by Mike Lawrence. The club Drive It Day Run to West Bay was enjoyed by many. |
May | AGM all the Management Team remained the same. 16th Anniversary Run to Honeybrook Farm was arranged by Nick and Will Aplin. 10 cars took part in the club Memorial Run which was organised by Pete Walker and Kerry Day. £90.35 was raised for Weldmar Hospice. |
June | Talk by Robin Cook on Harrods from 1959. 16th Hardy Country Classic Tour saw record entries of 95. Lunch stop was at Shillingstone House and our new finish venue was The Riviera Hotel. The club attended Evershot Country Fair and Dorchester Carnival with vehicles. 17th Annual Show was a great day and Best in Show was Tim Lane with his Corvette. |
July | TOY supported the first Blackmore Vale Revival at Henstridge Airfield. |
August | 109 members in the club it was reported. 19 cars on show at the club meeting, we welcomed back former member Pete Reddick. |
September | Talk by Capt John Myers a former Red Arrows Pilot. |
October | Cheque to Dorset & Someset Air Ambulance for £1,250. Sadly Peter Horsley passed away aged 81. |
November | Talk by Brian Jackson on Transport going to war. Winners on raffle included Kerry Day and Carle. |
December | Chris Groves entertained us at our Christmas meeting. Christmas Meal was again at the Upwey Wishing Well. 11th Sun Inn Steam & Vehicle Meet saw 5 new engines attend, it was the best yet. |
2016
January | Steve Geach took on the job of our new Website Editor. New Years Party was another great night for everyone. Club member Kerry Day sadly passed away in this month. |
February | Talk by Paul Atterbury from the BBC Antiques Road Show. |
March | Skittles with the Woolbridge Motor Club resulted in the TOY team winning again at the Lugger Inn. |
April | Talk by Rob Curtis, this time on Thomas Hardy. Members enjoyed the club's Annual ' Drive It Day Run ' to West Bay. |
May | Club AGM saw all the Management Team stand for another year. The club Anniversary Run finished at the English Oak Vineyard 19 vehicles took part in the run and it was organised by Nick & Will Aplin. |
June | 17th Hardy Country Classic Tour had record entries of 101 vehicles and we donated £1,075 to the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust. We had a Cider tasting at the club meeting given by the Purbeck Cider Company. The club's 18th Annual Show was another success even though we had to move field to our normal car park field, we raised £1,000 for the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance. Our special guest was Paul Atterbury from the BBC Antiques Road Show who presented the awards. |
July | Club Barbecue at the Victoria Inn, over 25 vehicles were on display. |
August | Club meeting saw our cheque presentation to the Air Ambulance for £1,000 at the Lugger Inn. |
September | Sadly former TOY member Mike Rodd passed away, he owned a nice 1965 Mini Countryman and a MG Midget. At the club meeting we had Rene & Allan Marriott ' Magic Lantern Show '. Former TOY club member Ken Lindsay passed away at the grand age of 93. Ken was a long standing member of the club from the beginning in 1999. |
October | Our Annual Quiz was hosted by club member Norman Kimber, a good bit of fun as always ! |
November | Our guest was Tim Medhurst from Duke Auctioneers. £45 was collected for the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust. Raffle winners included Bill White, Andy Collier, and Sally Williams. |
December | Our Christmas meeting was another great night with music by '' The Grahames '' and a nice buffet as we celebrated the Chairman's 75th Birthday !! The Christmas Meal was enjoyed, this year at The Lugger Inn over 50 members and friends attended. The 12th Sun Inn Steam & Vehicle Meet was again enjoyed and became even more popular with lots of new vehicles attending. |
2017
January | We opened the year with a Natter night for our meeting, a good turn out of members just under 40! The New Year Party saw another good night out for members and friends. Our entertainment was provided by Paul Lamming for the second year running. |
February | Our guest speaker at our meeting was Rod Harris OBE, who gave a great talk on 'A day at the Palace'. The Annual Gillingham Gathering was attended by several TOY club members at the end of the month. Sadly Anton Harler's wife Gill passed away after a long illness. |
March | 50 members enjoyed the Talk by Paul Chick MBE on 'Real or Fake' Goods. The Annual Skittles Match with the Woolbridge Motor Club saw the TOY team winning again! |
April | 50 members attended the club meeting, we had a talk by Rob Curtis. Also in this month Len & Milly Watts celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. |
May | The club's 18th Anniversary was celebrated at the AGM with a cake, also a club run to the Blandford Georgian Fayre. |
June | The 18th Hardy Country Classic Tour had a record of 125 entries ! The Annual Show was another great day for our 19th Show. |
