As always the tractor section was very big this year, equally the other sections were well supported across the showground.

TOY 18th Anniversary Run to Blandford Georgian Fayre - Mon 1st May 2017.
This year's club Anniversary Run started in heavy rain from Dorchester, 12 cars left for the Blandford Georgian Fayre where we were to display our cars in the Lower Ham car park. Shortly after leaving Dorchester the roads were dry and the sun came out as we approached Waterston ridge, and apart from a few spots of rain it remained a sunny day in Blandford.
Thousands of people flocked to this the 25th Georgian Fayre, it is believed to be the largest Georgian event in the UK. Over £1,000,000 has been raised to date from this event.
We were joined by a few guest cars, a nice 1948 V8 Pilot from the Bournemouth area, a P6 Rover 2000 and a Jenson plus a unique 1960 Morris Minor, which was on its second owner from new and had only covered 8,000 miles from new in 1960 !! Carle and other members were selling our Show Draw Tickets throughout the day in support of the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance.
The town was busy with stalls of all manner, fair rides in and around the town and in the meadow field near to the Crown Hotel. Everyone had a good day and at just after 4pm we all started to make our way home, we hope you enjoyed this year's run and the venue this year.

Annual Gillingham Gathering - Sun 26th Feb 2017.
This early season event is organised by the Commercial Transport In Preservation club, and I think it was the 18th event this year, mainly Commercial vehicles, but over the years more cars now turn up and add to the gathering.
A number of TOY Club members were in attendance, some with their '' Classics '' and others in their modern cars.
Nice to see Peter & Anita Meech with their Sunbeam Rapier, also Kevin & Jill Andrews in their MGB to name just a couple.
One large Steam engine ' Duke of York ' was in steam, owned by Nick Baker who every year hosts this event within his yard and buildings. Nick owns many vehicles and some were on display, including his 1928 Austin 12 /4 Pick Up which he purchased in 2015. Also the sounds of his fairground organ '' Charlotte Rose '' could be heard all over the yard, playing some wonderful tunes from yesteryear. This organ was formerly owned by Ray Bryant and had attended many of the TOY Club Shows over the years from 1999 through until about 5 years ago.
Smaller Steam was provided by our Lenny Watts and Karl Burden and Brian Burden with their engines. No visit to Gillingham is not complete without a famous Cornish Pasty and a coffee in the '' workshop café '' .
A great time was had by all, and next year the event is moving to SUNDAY 25TH MARCH 2018, in the same place.
